As the cycles of emotion come and go, they will become less frequent, they won’t last as long, and they will become less intense. This is the natural way for the human body to process tragedy.
It is extremely powerful to recognize and understand this while it is happening. Allowing the emotion to wash over you will help you release it. Flowing with the process will will make it go away faster.
Be aware that there is a fine balance and a danger in surrendering to emotion, because it is easy to get trapped. In the midst of our surrender, when we embrace sorrow, we must be able to regain our composure. We must be able to push the emotion aside, and rely on our logic to take us through daily actions.
