In the moment that you feel a bad attitude or negative feelings overcome your body, snap yourself out of it by introducing something foreign and unexpected. Imagine doing something like touching your nose and letting out a beep, or think of something that makes you laugh. The thought will snap your mind out of the automatic attitude and give you a chuckle. You replace the bad association with a good attitude.
There is a positive association for everything you don’t like in your life. If you have an abusive partner or boss, think of how goofy they are, taking themselves so seriously. Have compassion for them because they’re not very happy. If they seek to control you, they probably feel like they don’t have any control over their own lives.
If you have a unique challenge, know that it gives you a unique perspective that will help others. You can blaze the trail for others to follow. Your personal accomplishments will inspire all who watch in amazement as you defy limitation.
