If we get bad news when we’re already in a bad mood, we might react differently than if we get
the same bad news while we’re in a good mood. During a bad day, we’ll probably react more
emotionally, and are more prone to rash action, which only hurts us.
This is one of the many ways that our lives reinforce our beliefs and why timing is critical.
When we’re in a bad mood, we tend to see the bad in things and emphasize the negative of a
situation. The opposite is true when we’re in a good mood and things are going our way. We see
the good in things and situations, and the way toward positive change is more clear and obvious.
