Everyone will interpret the ‘same’ information differently. Effective communication focuses on the fine details of the end result.
Make the details of the goal as clear as possible, and provide general guidelines about the process of getting there. Stress the order in which the steps must be done and highlight the important points in the process, then remember that the goal won’t be reached by the exact path that you have in mind.
Remember that the goal is the important part, so if the end result meets the expectations that you communicated, the path to the goal is less important.
With that said, experience teaches us to follow an efficient path, and it can be frustrating to watch others struggle needlessly.
