Negative Thoughts and Emotions
Do not allow your negative thoughts and emotions to defeat you. They are natural, and are a part of everyone’s journey. The negative thoughts and emotions are ego’s attempt to keep you where you are, in the familiar. As bad as your life may be right now, it is familiar to you. It is always difficult and scary to step out of your comfort zone, no matter how miserable it is.
Your negative thoughts and emotions are ego’s tools to keep you where you are, to prevent change. Ego sees all change as threatening, the scary unknown, and it will try to sabotage your success, to stop you from changing. Do not let your ego win. You must let nothing stand in the way of you living the life you want, the life you define.
When you feel negative thoughts and emotions, the best thing to do is to entertain them for a moment. This will satisfy your Ego, because you have not ignored it, you have given your ego validity, which is all it really wants. Be grateful and thank your ego for protecting you. Then focus on the task at hand and get on with your day.
